The Thomson
Reuters Checkpoint (formerly
RIA Checkpoint)
database has now been configured for improved
off-campus access! Registering an individual user login from on campus is
no longer required for remote access. Clicking the link to Checkpoint
on our website should lead to our usual
library
login and then directly to Checkpoint's search page.
Checkpoint is a tax, accounting, and legal database that focuses on tax
law.

During the Summer 2016 semester, the library underwent some personnel changes with the retirement of longtime Library Dean Donald Smith and the departure of librarian Carita Alexander. Best wishes to them both!
New Interim Library Dean Cynthia Robertson will oversee library operations and may be reached at crobertson@ulm.edu and the same x1050 office extension. If you were looking to contact Carita Alexander, former Allied Health & Pharmacy Librarian, you may instead contact Contact Asst. Dean Lowe lowe@ulm.edu. And Interim Coordinator of Special Collections Heather Pilcher can be reached at pilcher@ulm.edu for questions about Special Collections, Archives, and records management.

OCLC, the library technology company that provides our EZProxy off-campus access, will be down for maintenance June 4-5. This may affect off campus access for the ULM Library and access to OCLC WorldCat during that time.
Scheduled: Technology Upgrades to Impact Services June 4 - 5
AFFECTED SERVICES: OCLC ServicesCREATED: 26 May 2016, 11:10 AM Eastern Daylight Time, North America [UTC -4]As we have communicated in previous messages, OCLC is undertaking a significant investment in our technological infrastructure. We are evolving our data center strategy, upgrading equipment and infrastructure, and standardizing processes globally to increase service responsiveness. These investments will advance our service delivery for years to come so that together we can better meet library users̢۪ increasing expectations.
This year-long effort is well underway. Much of the work is occurring behind the scenes. Some of these transitions require scheduled downtime for services.
As part of this initiative, all OCLC services will be unavailable from 9:00 pm Saturday, 4 June 2016, to 12:00 pm (noon) Sunday, 5 June 2016, Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) US (UTC -4) while we conduct data storage migrations.
While we scheduled this maintenance event to occur during a slower time for many of our member libraries, we understand that this event still impacts many. We apologize in advance for any disruption to you and your users.
As always, system activities and schedules can be viewed on our System Alerts page on the OCLC website. We will communicate through the System Alerts page if there are any changes or delays in completing this scheduled work, and we will also use this page to let you know when this work has been completed. Contact your local customer support team if you have any questions about this upcoming event.
We are committed to the ongoing enhancement of our systems, infrastructure and processes, and we will continue to advance our delivery to you. Thank you for your continued support.
