More Moving

Offices have moved in the past at the library, and it's not over yet.

The reference dept. will likely move upstairs to the second floor, while the new reference desk will remain where it is. Also probable: Deanna Buczala of Academic Affairs will expand her offices on the first floor, the Computer Lab will be remodeled, and as well as other parts of the library.

JSTOR maintenance

This weekend, JSTOR will be down:

Service Alert: On Saturday, July 10, 10 AM- 5 PM EST (UTC-5 hours), JSTOR will undergo site maintenance to prepare for a platform upgrade later this month. During tomorrow's maintenance period, you will be able to search and download articles, but will not be able to reset passwords, save citations, or create/update MyJSTOR accounts. Thank you for your patience while we work to improve JSTOR!

But how would you like it if JSTOR never worked at ULM? Well, that's exactly what could happen if the Louisiana Board of Regents won't fund LOUIS, which allows us to get such resources. To learn what LOUIS is, why you need it, and how you can contact The Board of Regents, go here:

Farewell to Delta

In case you did not know, Delta Community College has been housed on ULM's campus and has shared library facilities with ULM for years. But they have thier own place now and are moving to their own campus here in Monroe.

The books went out this weekend. Here's Hugh Carter, one of the reference librarians at Delta, whom you may have met at our library, with some of the books rolling out to the moving truck.

Good luck to him and the rest of Delta!

Reference Has Moved!... a few yards

Things may seem slow during Maymester, but The Summer semester is going to start soon, and big changes are going on at the library. The reference desk has moved! About six yards to the left! (for a reference desk, that's a lot)

That's librarian Maren Williams at the desk. If you can see them behind her, the first floor is also getting more computers.

There is also a possibility that the reference offices will move to another floor, but nothing is official until it actually happens...

LexisNexis has a new look

I first talked about this way back in November, so it's about time the change was made. LexisNexis Academic now has a new interface, and all links to it on our site should show it.

http://www.lexisnexis.com/hottopics/lnacademic/

It may take some getting used to, but maybe not. The search options are different, but on the inside it's the same as it ever was.
